Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Mustang / F-150 / Crown Vic cranks but won't start (theft light flashing)
  • B1601 — PATS received invalid format of key code
  • B2103 — PATS no transceiver communication
  • B1602 — invalid key
  • B1213 — PATS keys programmed less than minimum
  • PATS receiver failed and replacement unit can't be paired
  • Used PCM from junkyard — keyed to donor vehicle, won't pair to recipient
  • Engine swap into non-PATS chassis (e.g., Coyote swap into Fox Body)
  • All keys lost + no Ford-PATS-equipped shop nearby

Won't fix:

  • No-crank conditions (test starter + battery)
  • Mechanical fuel pump / injector / coil failure
  • 2019+ Ford with newer immobilizer architecture (text us first)

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Will my Ford still pass emissions?
Yes. PATS delete is independent of the emissions system. All OBD-II monitors, readiness flags, and emissions codes operate identically to before — only the anti-theft authentication is bypassed.
Do I need to send any keys?
No. After PATS delete, any physical key that fits the ignition will start the car. Existing keys still work; the PCM just stops checking for the transponder.
Will the THEFT light still flash on the dashboard?
On most PCMs we can disable the light too. On some early EEC-V PCMs, the THEFT indicator is hardwired to the receiver — if your specific PCM has this, the light may stay on but the engine starts normally. We tell you upfront before shipping back if your PCM falls in this category.
Engine swap — Coyote into Fox Body or Mustang II?
Yes, this is one of the most common reasons for the service. PATS delete on the Coyote PCM lets it run cleanly in a chassis that doesn't have PATS wiring (Fox Body, SN95 V8 swap, classic-truck Coyote swap, etc.).
My PCM is from a 2014 F-150 with PATS-2 — covered?
Yes. PATS, PATS-2, and PATS-3 are all covered through 2018 model year. Text us your PCM part number if you're unsure.
Can I reverse this if I sell the truck?
We archive the original PCM data for 90 days. Within that window, restore is $75. After 90 days, best-effort.
