Should I clone or replace the key?
If your original EIS works and you want to keep existing keys, clone ($250). If keys are lost OR you only have a virgin donor EIS, key replacement ($150). Combo for both ($350) saves a shipping cycle.
My W204 steering wheel won't unlock and the car won't start. What is it?
Classic ELV (electronic steering lock) failure. Common on W204/W207/W212/W166. The ELV motor wears out and seizes. Our ELV Emulator service ($350) is a permanent fix that eliminates the failure-prone moving parts entirely.
Will my 2015+ Mercedes work with these services?
2015+ uses FBS4 which requires online dealer SCN coding — different process than pre-2014 FBS3. We handle FBS4 case-by-case for confirmed bench-recoverable scenarios. Text us with your VIN to verify.
Do I need to ship the donor EIS with my original?
Only if you want cloning. For key replacement, you can ship just the original EIS (or just a virgin donor — your choice). For cloning, you need both.
How much does Mercedes charge for the same work at the dealer?
Dealer pricing for EIS replacement + SCN coding runs $1,500-$2,500 depending on chassis and metro. Bench cloning at our workshop is the same technical work without the dealer overhead.
