Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Preparing tuned vehicle for warranty / dealer service
  • Selling or returning a leased vehicle that was tuned
  • Failed aftermarket tune flash — module in unstable state
  • Removing performance tune before emissions inspection
  • Stock-class racing — need verifiable OEM calibration
  • Recovering from "computer says modified" warranty denial scenarios

Won't fix:

  • Hardware-failed PCM (this flashes software, doesn't repair the board)
  • Modules with no OEM calibration available (rare; we tell you upfront if so)
  • Restoring engine to stock after physical modifications (only the cal is restored — not headers, cams, etc.)

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Will this fool the dealer's scan tool?
The scan tool will see factory calibration values — it will not detect any aftermarket modification. The dealer's normal diagnostic flow does not flag a module that reads as stock. (Note: physical engine modifications — headers, cams, etc. — still show themselves through other channels. We restore the software, not the hardware.)
Do I need to tell you what tune was on it?
Helpful but not required. We capture the pre-flash data automatically. Knowing the tune vendor + approx power level helps us verify the reflash overwrote everything correctly.
Can I re-tune AFTER you reflash to stock?
Yes. The module is unrestricted after the reflash — your tuner can read and write normally. If your module was previously locked (Chrysler GPEC2/2A, GM T87A/T93, etc.) and you want it unlocked again, see our PCM Unlocking Service.
What if the OEM calibration isn't available for my VIN?
We carry the most current GM, Ford, Chrysler factory calibration archives. If your VIN-specific cal isn't available (very rare — typically only on extremely new model years that just released), we tell you upfront and refund.
Will the check engine light come on after?
No, assuming the engine itself is in OEM-spec hardware condition. The stock calibration expects stock hardware. If you have non-stock parts (e.g., aftermarket headers), CEL behavior depends on whether the OEM cal would have flagged them.
