Broad coverage IMMO + diagnostic tablet — good first tool
Why we use it
IM608 II covers a huge swath of vehicles including many Asian brands that VVDI doesn't touch. We use it for on-car diagnostic confirmation before/after bench work, and for IMMO jobs on Japanese/Korean cars that don't need bench access.
When we reach for it
Toyota smart-key programming, Nissan PIN extraction, Honda HDS-style work, Hyundai/Kia BCM-pinned jobs. Also our standard pre-ship diagnostic capture tool.
What it doesn't do
Slower than VVDI2 for high-volume BMW work. Coverage on bleeding-edge models lags behind brand-specific tools (Abrites for VW/Audi, AVDI for BMW newest). Subscription cost over time adds up.
