VW & Audi UDS Cluster IMMO-OFF (2011-2016) — Last-Resort ECM-Direct Recovery

When a UDS cluster has been bricked during a failed key/immo attempt, we patch the immobilizer OFF at the ECM so the car starts and runs without a programmed cluster — a recovery of last resort.

Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Car bricked / won't start after a failed key or immo attempt on a UDS cluster
  • Cluster damaged or unresponsive and a replacement-cluster route isn't viable
  • Engine cranks but immediately dies on the immobilizer
  • You need the vehicle drivable again as a recovery, not a fresh build

Won't fix:

  • Permanent immobilizer light + stored cluster/immo DTCs (e.g. comfort-CAN 'no communication') stay logged even though the car runs
  • Comfort features may change — one-touch / roll-down windows and other cluster-routed functions can behave differently (model-dependent; we flag your car first)
  • Not a cluster repair — the car runs without a working cluster but does NOT restore full cluster/immo function
  • No emissions defeat — immobilizer-only recovery where legally permitted; we never disable or alter emissions controls

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Is ECM-side IMMO-OFF actually real on UDS VW/Audi?
Yes. The engine controller can be patched to ignore the immobilizer handshake from the cluster, so the car starts and runs. It's a well-established technique on Bosch ME17/MED17/EDC17 ECMs — but on UDS-cluster cars we treat it as a recovery of last resort.
Why is this a last resort?
Because it leaves a permanent immobilizer light, stored DTCs, and can change how some cluster-routed comfort features behave. The cleaner fix is always to repair/program the cluster — this is for when that's no longer possible (e.g. a prior attempt bricked it).
Will it affect my power windows?
It can, on some cars — one-touch and key roll-down route through the comfort-CAN/cluster gateway and may behave differently. It's model-dependent; we check your car and tell you before doing the work.
Is this legal?
We provide it for repair/recovery where legally permitted. Removing an immobilizer can have insurance and legal implications in your area, so it's your responsibility to confirm it's allowed. We never touch emissions controls.
How much and how long?
$350 plus flat-rate return shipping picked at checkout (Standard $14.95, UPS 2-Day $29.95, or UPS overnight $74.95). Turnaround is quick once it arrives, but contact us with your VIN first so we confirm it's the right path.
