Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Engine cranks but immediately stalls (immobilizer kill after start)
  • No bus / lost communication to a deleted or failed SKIM module
  • Salvage or swap PCM locked to another car's secret key
  • Lost all keys with no way to re-marry the SKIM
  • Engine-swap harness with no working immobilizer loop

Won't fix:

  • Mechanical/electrical no-crank not caused by the immobilizer (starter, relay, ground)
  • Body-side faults (BCM, TIPM, ignition switch, column lock) unrelated to PCM security
  • Emissions or smog compliance - this is NOT an emissions-defeat or delete-tune service; we do not modify catalyst, EGR, EVAP, or readiness monitors
  • A physically dead/water-damaged PCM that won't power up on the bench

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

What's the difference between SKIM, SKREEM, and WIN?
SKIM is the original Chrysler transponder system (1998+). SKREEM is the later combined immobilizer + RKE unit. WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) is the push-button/FOBIK-era successor. All three send a security challenge the PCM must pass - we delete that check inside the PCM.
Will my car start with a regular key after the delete?
Yes. Once the SKIM routine is removed the PCM no longer needs a transponder challenge, so both chipped Sentry keys and plain non-security keys will start the engine.
Which PCM do I have — SBEC, JTEC, or NGC?
Roughly: SBEC3/3A+ on 1998-2004 cars and minivans, JTEC on 1998-2004 trucks/Jeep, and NGC from about 2003 on. We confirm the family from your part number when it arrives.
I'm doing a HEMI / 4.7 swap into an older Jeep — can you delete the immobilizer?
Yes - one of the most common reasons people use it. We turn off the SKIM handshake so the swapped PCM runs without the donor vehicle's SKIM module or keys.
Does deleting the SKIM change my VIN or affect emissions?
No. We only disable the immobilizer security routine. We do not change the stored VIN, and we do not touch any emissions calibration. For swap, off-road and repair use where legally permitted.
