Used module pairing failure — Used donor module won't accept new VIN
Universal diagnostic code. Below: what it means, common causes, symptoms, and the exact bench-programming fix path.
Common causes
- •Salvage module installed without virginize
- •Security counter exhausted from failed pair attempts
- •Module locked to donor car's VIN
Symptoms you'll see
- •Module rejects all pairing attempts
- •"Security access denied" via scan tool
- •Counter shows "0 remaining attempts"
The fix path
Bench-virginize the module: BMW CAS or Land Rover KVM/RFA Virginize services do this. Once virginized, the module accepts pairing to any new VIN.
