P0513 — VW/Audi Incorrect Immobilizer Key
VW/Audi diagnostic code. Below: what it means, common causes, symptoms, and the exact bench-programming fix path.
Common causes
- •Key transponder not programmed to the vehicle
- •Used ECU installed (still bound to donor car's keys)
- •Cluster swap broke ECU-cluster pairing
- •Failed locksmith key attempt damaged cluster EEPROM
Symptoms you'll see
- •Crank-no-start
- •IMMO light steady or flashing
- •Same behavior with multiple keys
- •Other cluster faults often co-present
The fix path
For used-ECU scenarios, IMMO Delete eliminates the binding. For cluster-damage scenarios (2011-2016 Jetta etc.), IMMO Delete bypasses the cluster entirely. $250 covers VIN write too.
