Fixes:

  • A JLR-capable J2534 pass-thru device (JLR VCI / DA-Dongle / Mongoose-class) on the OBD-II port
  • A stable, low-latency internet connection — wired/Ethernet strongly preferred
  • The vehicle on-site with its smart key(s)
  • A battery support charger / power supply holding steady voltage for the whole session
  • A Windows laptop at the car able to run FlexiHub / the USB-over-network client

Why won't my Jaguar XF start after I changed or disconnected the battery?
The voltage drop during the battery event corrupts the Central Junction Box (CJB/BCM), which stores your smart-key and security data. A new battery alone won't fix it — the damage is in the module's memory, and the CJB has to be recovered with Jaguar software.
Can this really be fixed remotely, or do I have to visit a dealer?

Is there any case where remote recovery won't work?
Yes. If the CJB is physically water-damaged or severely corroded — common on 2012-2015 XFs from a leaking washer pump — the memory may be too far gone to recover in-car, and the module may need bench repair or replacement. We assess recoverability first and tell you honestly before you commit.
