North Carolina FAQ
Common questions from customers shipping from North Carolina.
How long does shipping take from North Carolina to your Arlington TX workshop?
USPS Priority Mail from Charlotte, NC reaches our Arlington workshop in about 2-3 business days. UPS Ground similar. We start work the same day your module arrives, and ship back next business day with return shipping included.
How much does it cost to ship from North Carolina?
USPS Priority Mail flat-rate from North Carolina to Arlington TX runs about $12. Customer pays shipping to us; return shipping back to North Carolina is included in the $150 service price.
Do you accept modules from North Carolina?
Yes — we ship to and from all 50 US states including North Carolina. Our Arlington TX workshop receives modules from Charlotte and the rest of North Carolina every week.
Is there a bmw fem/bdc key programming shop in Charlotte I should use instead?
Most local Charlotte shops don't offer bmw fem/bdc key programming as a bench service — they'd send the part to someone like us anyway. Going direct saves the markup and shortens the timeline. Total round-trip from Charlotte: typically 5-7 days.
Why do I need to send the DME too?
The FEM/BDC stores an Individual Serial Number (ISN) that must match the DME exactly. Both modules are cryptographically paired — programming a key requires reading the ISN from the DME and writing it to the FEM.
What if my DME is also failed?
A failed DME cannot be ISN-read electronically. In that case we can sometimes recover ISN via dump from a known-good donor. Contact us first before ordering if your DME is dead.
Can I add a key without all-keys-lost?
Yes — we add spare keys. The process is the same (we still need the FEM and DME on the bench) but a working key on the original vehicle is not required.
